Publications Volunteer Intern

Job description

Crisis Group publishes around 70 reports and briefings annually with some 60 full translations to English, French, Spanish, Arabic and other languages.


The Communications department is seeking an intern to volunteer full-time at the Brussels headquarters for a suggested period of six months starting 18 February 2019, assisting with Crisis Group’s publications. This voluntary internship will suit a broad range of candidates, including those with interests and experience in some combination of the following: international relations, conflict studies, print and online publication.


Responsibilities: 

  • Formatting, publication and dissemination of reports, briefings and other papers; 

  • Updating the website;

  • Coordinating with field and advocacy offices on publication issues and providing general administrative support; and

  • Assisting other units within the Communications department as well as other parts of the organisation.

Requirements

  • Experienced user of Microsoft Word and familiarity with Excel;
  • An undergraduate degree in international relations, conflict studies, government or similar is desirable;

  • Authorisation to work in the EU;

  • Excellent English required, knowledge of French and other languages is an asset; and

  • Knowledge of InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop is an asset.
