The IT Security Officer assists the IT Manager to provide ICT support and to train colleagues who are spread across the world on IT related topics. The focus of this role lies on IT security matters.
Advise colleagues about IT security related matters, including ahead of their travel to cybersecurity sensitive countries, and provide training for new joiners as well as current staff on practical matters;
Provide ICT support to Crisis Group colleagues including implementation of ICT, maintenance, second and first line support;
Support the IT manager in managing the servers, backups, computers, laptops, printers, mobile phones and ICT resource needs of Crisis Group’s offices;
Purchase computer equipment and monitor inventory of Crisis Group as required;
Deal with the administration of the Crisis Group Network and Applications;
Support and manage our telecommunications needs;
Coordinate with external IT companies as required.
Microsoft technology (Server/client OS, Active Directory, Group Policies, MS Office, etc.)

Backup technologies (Online storage, Synology, Amazon S3 / Glacier)
Remote administration and support (Windows servers and Users)
Networking / VLAN / Firewalls / WIFI Access points
Experience with Cisco Umbrella, Trend Micro, Crowdstrike, LastPass, Cisco Meraki, including security (Global Network and Software management), BetterCloud, Chrome OS (used on Chromebook) and website management is a plus;
You have relevant experience with managing IT security matters, ideally in an international working environment, and are able to work independently in providing IT operation and support;

Since our working language is English, we expect you to speak and write well in English;
You are available for occasional travel to our offices in New York, Washington, London, Nairobi, Istanbul, and Dakar.
