Crisis Group is offering a great learning opportunity to work closely with a small but ambitious team to support fundraising efforts from the world’s leading foundation donors. In this volunteer internship you will discover how an organization approaches, cultivates, and stewards relationships with foundation donors (please find a list of our current donors here). This is a volunteer position for 3 to 6 months starting in September 2021.
We offer you learning on the job through:
Assisting the Development Team with collecting information for grant proposals and reports.
Assisting the Development Team with drafting briefing notes and talking points for donor meetings.
Supporting overall administrative tasks related to day-to-day grant management. This can include enhancing and maintaining donor filing systems, taking notes during meetings, and reviewing/editing donor materials, as needed.
Monitoring philanthropic trends to build a resource database of content and drafting social media posts on fundraising trends and insights.
Research and flag philanthropy-focused conferences, webinars, and seminars for internal learning purposes; attend as needed.
Provide administrative and logistical support for external events.
This volunteer position will suit anyone interested in gaining broader insight into trends and new developments in the philanthropic landscape, and learning how to link institutional thematic priorities with Crisis Group activities.
Currently pursuing, or recently completed, an undergraduate or graduate degree.
Excellent writing and communication skills.
Well organized, communicative, and interpersonal.
A can do attitude and keen to take initiative.
Attention to detail, ability to work independently and adhere to tight deadlines.
Collegial and collaborative.
Authorization to work in the U.S.
Interviews will be conducted on a rolling basis and the application will close when we identify a suitable candidate. Our Foundations team is run out of New York, but we are open to considering remote candidates.
